Marble is a very porous material, which means it can stain very quickly. Avoid spills at all costs, but if they do occur, wipe them up immediately with a soft cloth and a little bit of water. Afterwards, wipe down the marble again with a dry cloth. Don?t leave pools of water to dry on marble, as this can cause discoloration. Avoid cleaning products around marble, especially all-natural ones made with lemon or vinegar, as marble is particularly sensitive to acid. Always use coasters and mats on marble to protect it from scratches and spills.

To avoid deep permanent stains, use coasters and refrain from putting food on the table top. Wipe away spills immediately.
